Alessandro Lanza is the Director of Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei. He previously was Chief Economist of Eni, managing director of Eni Corporate University and Principal Administrator of the International Energy Agency (Energy and Environment Division).
He was a board member of ENEA representing the Ministry of Economic Development. Author of many publications on topics related to energy and environment, he was also Principal Author (Lead Author) for the Third Assessment Report and the Fifth Assessment Report on behalf of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change).
He is lecturer at Luiss University and Luiss Business School, Member of the Editorial Board of lavoce.info and Founding Member of the Italian Association of Economists of the Environment and Natural Resources and of the Italian Society for Climate Science (SISC). Alessandro Lanza holds a Ph.D in Economics from University College of London.
